Day 63: Medley – 2023 Year in Review

Day 63: 3-minute 2023 compilation of 3D cartography and WebGL work. Edited in Kdenlive. #100DayMapChallenge.

Day 63. Medley 🎬

This is a year-end compilation of my 3D cartography and animation work from 2023.

It brings together terrain visualization, globe rendering, particle systems, and shader-based experiments into a single 3-minute narrative. Instead of focusing on one project, the goal was to show the range that emerged over a full year of working with Three.js, WebGL, QGIS, and animation tools.

The challenge was not just editing, but finding a coherent rhythm between projects built in very different contexts, with different visual styles and pacing.

The video was assembled in Kdenlive, combining multiple WebGL outputs into one continuous sequence. Each segment reflects a different part of the process, from data pipelines in QGIS to custom GLSL shaders and motion work.

Looking back, it works both as a portfolio piece and as a snapshot of that year: what held together, what evolved, and what carried forward into newer work.
